Russia Issues Stark Warning Over U.S. Plans to Acquire Greenland

Russia has sounded a dramatic warning, claiming that President Donald Trump’s plans to acquire Greenland could trigger “the end of the world.”

Russian Senator Dmitry Rogozin, a former deputy prime minister and ex-head of the Russian Space Agency, linked the potential U.S. move to a strategic “Golden Dome” missile defense system. Rogozin suggested that if the United States believes it can achieve nuclear superiority over Russia and China by annexing Greenland, the consequences could be catastrophic.

“This could mark the beginning of the end of the world,” Rogozin warned, accusing Trump of acting on the Pentagon’s directives to seize Greenland by force and convert it into a platform for both nuclear strike capabilities and missile defense systems targeting Russian ICBMs.

Meanwhile, Denmark has firmly rejected any notion of selling Greenland. During talks in Washington, D.C., yesterday with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, Danish officials reiterated that Greenland remains not for sale, underscoring the island’s strategic importance and sovereignty.

The exchange highlights rising tensions over Arctic geopolitics, as the United States, Russia, and China all seek to expand their influence in the resource-rich region.
