Miss World Cameroon Launches “Voices for Justice” Initiative to Tackle Gender-Based Violence
Miss World Cameroon 2026, Raïssa Noura Njikam, has officially introduced her Beauty With a Purpose project titled “Voices for Justice,” an initiative aimed at preventing and addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in Cameroon, with a particular focus on psychological and digital abuse.
Led through the Nounji Care Foundation, the project is built on four main pillars: prevention, protection, rehabilitation, and collaboration among institutions, civil society, communities, and the media. One of its key priorities is tackling online harassment and psychological violence, issues that increasingly affect young women, public figures, opinion leaders, and pageant titleholders.
Through awareness campaigns, education programs, advocacy, and community dialogue, Voices for Justice seeks to break the silence surrounding digital and psychological violence. The initiative also works with specialized organizations to help restore victims’ dignity and encourage a more responsible and humane use of digital platforms.
As part of her advocacy efforts, Raïssa Noura Njikam participated in the National Forum on Girls’ Rights, organized by UNICEF alongside UNHCR, UNFPA, WFP, UN Women, FEICOM, and the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family. During the forum, she engaged directly with young women, listening to their experiences, challenges, and hopes for the future.
Reaffirming the core values of Miss World’s Beauty With a Purpose, Raïssa emphasized that wearing the crown carries a responsibility to speak up for those whose voices often go unheard and to protect girls and women from all forms of violence, including those occurring in digital spaces.
