United States’ Yolina Lindquist Wins Miss Cosmo 2025 as Indonesia’s Salma Ranggita Places Top 21
Salma Ranggita Finishes in Top 21 at Miss Cosmo 2025
Ho Chi Minh City — The winner of Miss Cosmo 2025 has officially been announced, marking a new chapter for the international beauty pageant. This year, the crown did not go to Indonesia’s representative, following the country’s historic win in the previous edition.
In 2024, Indonesia’s Ketut Permata Juliastrid made history as the first-ever Miss Cosmo winner, as the pageant debuted that year. However, Indonesia was unable to continue the winning streak at the 2025 competition.
Indonesia was represented by Salma Ranggita, who earned the title Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2025 prior to competing on the international stage. Despite a strong performance, Salma concluded her journey at the Top 21 semifinal round.
The Miss Cosmo 2025 crown was ultimately claimed by Yolina Lindquist of the United States, while Chelsea Fernandez of the Philippines secured the Runner-Up position. The grand final took place on Saturday night (December 20, 2025) at Cong Vien Sang Tao Creative Park, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The official Puteri Indonesia Instagram account praised Salma’s dedication and performance, writing, “With grace, courage, and an unbreakable spirit, she gave her very best on the international stage. Thank you, Salma, for every effort, every sacrifice, and every moment you shared with us.”
During the final night, Salma captivated the audience in a red couture gown designed by Lisa Ju. The shimmering red ensemble symbolized the “fire of struggle,” representing Indonesia’s journey of independence, cultural richness, and unity. Salma, a graduate of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the University of Indonesia, shared the symbolism on her Instagram account.
The red hue also reflected Indonesia’s natural heritage, including volcanic soil, sacred mountains, and ancestral lineage—ranging from Mount Merapi to Mount Bromo.
For the National Costume segment, Salma wore a dramatic creation inspired by Lakian, a sacred Torajan funeral ritual. The costume featured buffalo horn elements, symbolizing honor, devotion, and eternal heritage, referencing the Torajan ancestral house Tongkonan. The costume was designed by Inggi Indrayana Kendran.
Miss Cosmo aims to amplify women’s global impact through advocacy, leadership, and community engagement. A total of 71 contestants participated in the second edition of the pageant.
Several special awards were also presented. Best Catwalk was awarded to Amys Nápoles Ochoa of Cuba, while Best in Swimsuit went to Ana Gabriela Carvalho Borges of Brazil. Meanwhile, Cassia Angela Sharpley of Namibia received the Cosmo Impactful Beauty Award.
