Miss Universe Co-Owner Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Fraud
Jakkaphong “Anne” Jakrajutatip, CEO of JKN Global Group and co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, has been sentenced to two years in prison for fraud involving a $951,927 corporate bond investment, according to reports.
The Bangkok South Kwaeng Court handed down the sentence on December 26, 2025. Jakrajutatip reportedly did not appear in court and remains at large, with a warrant issued for her arrest.
The case stems from allegations that Jakrajutatip and her company provided false information to persuade a plastic surgeon to invest, despite knowing the company could not repay the bonds. Local media reports estimate the financial loss at 30 million baht.
Jakrajutatip had previously been released on bail but failed to appear in subsequent hearings, leading authorities to consider her a flight risk. Some reports suggest she may have fled to Mexico around the time of the Miss Universe 2025 coronation, where Fátima Bosch of Mexico was crowned.
This sentencing follows a year of controversies surrounding the Miss Universe Organization, including investigations into co-owner Raúl Rocha over alleged organized crime activities in Mexico, involving drug, arms, and fuel trafficking.
The Miss Universe Organization has not yet issued a public comment on the sentencing.
