Miss World Nepal Luna Luitel Launches Integrated ‘Beauty With a Purpose’ Project for Community Empowerment

Miss World Nepal Luna Luitel has unveiled a comprehensive Beauty With a Purpose initiative aimed at empowering women, expanding healthcare access, and improving education for disadvantaged communities in Nepal.

Through a multi-layered and sustainable approach, Luna’s project brings together economic empowerment, healthcare innovation, and child welfare to restore dignity and opportunity in underserved areas.
The first pillar of the initiative focuses on women’s empowerment alongside environmental sustainability. Local women are being provided with biodegradable Duna Tapari (leaf plate) machines, enabling them to earn a stable income while preserving traditional skills. The program not only promotes financial independence but also encourages eco-friendly alternatives to plastic products.

Healthcare access forms the second pillar through the introduction of telemedicine services. In remote regions where families often need to travel long distances for medical treatment, the system allows residents to consult doctors and receive basic healthcare remotely. Luna emphasizes that access to health services should not be limited by geography.

The third pillar centers on education and child welfare. At a government school serving historically marginalized communities, 65 students currently share only two toilets and lack basic learning facilities. The initiative plans to construct proper sanitation infrastructure and establish a small library to create a safe, dignified, and inspiring learning environment.

“These initiatives are threads of one story,” Luna said. “Women earning, families staying healthy, and children finally being allowed to dream.”

At its core, the project seeks to restore dignity that has been denied for generations. By combining income generation, healthcare access, and educational infrastructure, Luna Luitel’s Beauty With a Purpose initiative demonstrates how holistic support can help communities grow sustainably and independently.

Her work stands as a powerful example of how the Beauty With a Purpose platform continues to create meaningful, long-term impact for communities in need.

Miss World Malaysia Taanusiya Chetty has launched Project Lestari Laut (Learning by the Waves), an education initiative aimed at improving access to learning for indigenous Orang Asli children living in remote coastal communities across Malaysia. The project was introduced through a site visit to Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Dua on Pulau Ketam, a small island settlement accessible only by water.
